XR-JetbotV2.0 User Guide
I. Product introduction

   XR-JetbotV2.0 is an entry-level programming AI robot for colleges and universities launched by XiaoR GEEK Technology in 2020. Its main features are as follows:

   1.It can use mobile phone to control via wireless WiFi;

   2.The robot can collect USB video data and transmit it to the control terminal in real time;

   3.Shipping with varieties of playable functions;

    4.Provide Python source code for secondary development;

1. Installation method of camera bracket

    The steps are as follows: pass 3 M3 screws through the camera bracket and connect them to the chassis of the car.

   The steps are as follows: connect the two antennas and operate as shown:

 

3.Voice module installation

     Step 1: Use an M3 nylon column + an M3 screw nut to fix the voice module on the side wing of PTZ (the left and right sides can be fixed, only one hole is required for the fixed position)

 

     Step 2: Use an M3 nylon column + an M3 screw to fix the horn module on the rear wheel of the car body (the left and right sides can be fixed, only one hole is needed for the fixing position)

 V. Quick Start

1. Start Jetbot

      Press the red power button, the corresponding button light will light up, the fan will start to rotate, and Jetbot will start up.

 

    During the start-up process, the front lights of Jetbot light up in different colors.

 

    After the start, you will hear a buzzer of "BI~~~", indicating that the car program has been started.

2. Connect to mobile phone

    First find the id displayed on the OLED screen on the Jetbot car, the id as shown in the figure below is 082c94

 

    Find the WiFi signal of JetbotV2_id:XXXX in the WLAN list of the mobile phone and connect it, XXXX is the id number.

 

3.Control Jetbot via APP

    Open the Jetbot control softwarethe which is installed previously , and select the Jetbot option, then enter the control mode

    <1>Video transmission

     After entering the control mode, the camera video will be directly loaded in the background of the screen.

 

    <2>Speed adjustment

     By checking the speed button, the total speed adjustment appears on the right, and there are 0-10 gears in total for adjustment.

 

     <3>Power display

     In addition to displaying battery information on the onboard OLED screen, Jetbot also can display battery information in the upper right corner of the APP control interface.

 

      <4> PTZ control

     Jetbot comes with 3 free-speed pan/tilt control. After checking the servo control option, there will be three sliders on the right, which can control the angle of the camera pan/tilt.

 

     <5>Motion control

     In addition to the virtual joystick in the lower left corner to control the direction of front and rear, left turn and right turn, Jetbot also can perform left translation and right translation after select the omnidirectional wheel mode.

 

     <6> Obstacle avoidance mode

     When Jetbot is in motion, when the ultrasonic obstacle avoidance option is turned on, the car actively brakes and stops when it encounters an obstacle in front.

 

      <7>Horn

      Jetbot has an onboard buzzer. After actively pressing the horn button, the buzzer and the horn will ring.

 

 

4.Function Description

   <1>Object tracking

    Enter object tracking mode

 

   Select one of the 5 colors and click the corresponding color (the selected color is displayed in the box on the right) to track.

    Click on the selected color to display the corresponding color lamp.

 

 

    <3>Object following

 

Enter the object following

    Select the object to follow, such as: follow people, click to start following

Human & object following (object following does not recognize human features, only outlines)

 

5. PS2 handle connection

When the PS2 handle receiver is not successfully connected with the PS2 handle remote controller, the PS2 handle receiver RX light is blinking, and the PS2 handle remote controller POWER and MODE LED lights are both blinking. Until the PS2 handle receiver is successfully connected with the PS2 handle remote controller, the blinking lights of the two will turn into a constant light state.

6.Switching of button functions

   The four onboard buttons of Jetbot car are yellow, blue, green and red.

   Red button: The red button is the power switch button, press it the corresponding indicator light to turn on, and press again to shut down.

   Green button: Press the green button and the corresponding indicator light is on. At this time, it is the PS2 handle control mode. You can use the joystick or button on the left side of the PS2 handle to control the Jetbot car to move forward, back, turn left, turn right.

   Blue button: Press the blue button and the corresponding indicator light is on. At this time, it is in voice control mode. Say the following command to Jetbot car:

Yellow button: Press the yellow button and the corresponding indicator light is on, and it is APP control mode at this time.

 

VI. FAQ Q&A

Q: There is no WiFi signal after turning on the power and waiting for 150S?

A: Please make sure you insert an SD card into the Jetson nao motherboard; if there is still no signal after inserting the SD card, the system may be damaged. Just follow the tutorial and reload the SD card with the factory firmware.

 

Q: Video transmission is very stuck when running object following or color tracking.

A: Jetbot will start the relevant algorithm library when starting the function mode. The temporary use of memory is large, the CPU resource utilization rate increases, and the Jetson Nano motherboard performance is insufficient.

 

Q: The buzzer will ring from time to time during ultrasonic obstacle avoidance.

A: When the ultrasonic obstacle avoidance is activated, the buzzer alarm if there is an obstacle in the front. Due to the jitter of the vehicle and the drift of ultrasonic measurement data, the obstacle alarm will be triggered occasionally.

 

Q: Suddenly lose control

A: Please confirm whether the WIFI is disconnected between the mobile phone and the car, and whether the distance is too long between the mobile phone and the car.
