Basic usage of Raspberry Pi DS video smart prorammable robot car

1.Remote Control Gameplay


It is recommended to connect and control the Raspberry pi DS robot car via WiFi, which can
not only realize real-time video transmission with the camera, but also
perform advanced functions such as visual recognition. Next, we will introduce
how to control the robot car using WiFi.
1.1 Download the app
The control software is called XR-Controller. Please use your browser to open
the link and download the application:

1.2 Android users install the APP
Use your own browser to paste the above link or scan the QR code to jump.
Android users please download XR-Controller for Android and click
"Download". Install it after the download is complete.

Note: Some brands of mobile phones may automatically turn on a similar pure
mode. Please find a way to turn it off yourself to avoid affecting the installation of
the application.
If you still have questions, please contact customer service in time, or ask friends
or family who are familiar with Android application installation for help.

 

1.3 Apple users install APP
Apple users can enter the link, find WifiRobot, click iOS, and scan the
QR code to enter the App Store to install it.

1.4 Start the robot
Turn on the power switch on the PWR.A53 driver board, and you can see that
the red and blue LED lights on the driver board will light up, indicating that the
robot is powered on. After starting, it will take about 50 seconds to initialize,
and after completion, it will enter the normal working state, that is, waiting for
the connection of the APP.

Note: During the initialization process, the running light on the driver board will flash for a while and then stay on.
If the running light still does not flash after waiting for a long time, please check
whether the TF card is inserted into the TF port of the Raspberry Pi (please do not use a card reader to insert it into the USB TYPE A port of the Raspberry Pi).
If the problem persists, please re-burn the image firmware in the data.

1.5 WiFi connected robot

Turn on the WLAN/WiFi switch on your phone and search for wireless signals
around you. This step is the same as connecting to a wireless router. Find the
wireless signal starting with XiaoRGEEK_DS_V2 and connect.

If you see "Cannot access the Internet" after connecting, it is normal and you don't
need to worry about it, because the hotspot mode is in LAN status.

Open the app, click "X Series" in the product series, then select WiFi
connection to enter the control interface.

Note: After connecting to the wireless signal, if you encounter a situation where the APP cannot be controlled, you need to confirm whether your phone has enabled WIFI optimization related settings such as dual-channel WiFi network acceleration, smart switching of the best WLAN, and smart switching of mobile data. If there are any settings, you need to check and turn them all off.
Try to turn off the mobile data of your phone as well. After all are completed, restart the robot and connect to WIFI.

1.6 Bluetooth connected robot
Open the app, click "X Series" in the product series, select Bluetooth connection, wait for a while, and the app will enter the control interface.

Note:
1. The control method of Bluetooth connection is not applicable to the robot car
equipped with Raspberry Pi 5 series development board.
2. Before executing the connection, you need to turn on the Bluetooth and location switch options of the mobile phone itself.
3. If it is the first connection, the APP will prompt to grant location permission-precise location, and you need to click Allow. After clicking, you need to return to the previous interface and click Bluetooth connection again.

1.7 Install PC control software
The PC control software runs on X86 computers and can run on mainstream
Windows systems.
According to the APP link in Section 2.1.1, enter and download WifiRobot for
Window.

After downloading, there will be an installation package. Double-click it to
install it on the computer's hard disk. When installing, please pay attention to
the installation path as much as possible without Chinese characters, and do
not install it to the C drive directory to prevent the parameters from being set
due to permission issues.

1.8 PC control software connected to the robot
First of all, it is best to turn off the computer's firewall, because some
computer firewalls may falsely report and prevent the PC control software
from sending control commands to the car.
Connect to the wireless signal of the smart video car through the computer's
WiFi wireless:

Select "Control Mode" - "WiFi Mode" on the top of the PC software to enter
the control state.

2 Parameter Adjustment


After assembling the Raspberry Pi Smart Video Car for the first time, if you find
that the control direction is inconsistent with the direction on the control
software, you can enter the X series settings on the control mode selection
interface of the Android APP, swap the positions of the commands in the
opposite direction in the command settings, and save.

If it is PC control software, click the "Platform Operation"-"System Config"
button in the upper left corner of the software to open the parameter setting
interface. Similarly, swap the commands in the opposite direction, save and
restart the software.

3 Charge

When the smart car is controlled, the video freezes, the line is disconnected,
or the control is disconnected, the smart car needs to be charged. The original
charger must be used for charging. One end is inserted into the battery
charging port at the bottom of the smart car, and the other end is connected
to the 220V mains socket.
During the charging process, the charger light is red and will switch to green
when fully charged.
The charger that comes with the product has a protective device to prevent
overcharging. It is forbidden to use other power adapters to charge the smart
car, otherwise it may damage the battery or even cause danger.
During the charging process of the smart car, it is not recommended to turn it
on, otherwise the smart car may not work properly and the battery will be
damaged.
